2009 IRNE Nominee – Danny Bryck, Best Actor in a Musical

Hedwig and the Angry Inch marked the beginning of Blue Spruce Theatre’s official and very public support of same-sex marriage (and other LBGTQ issues).

November, 2008 – Portraits: The Last Leaf / Still Life

This innovative production took two previously unrelated one-act musicals and paired them by setting them both in the same apartment, 100 years apart. Both shows featured the same cast, and discussed the power, importance and longevity of art.

Portraits was Directed by Jesse Strachman with Music Direction by Nathan Lofton.

April, 2007 – The Last Five Years

Our first production ever was Jason Robert Brown’s semi-autobiographical and intimate portrayal of a 5-year relationship, told variously from his and her point of view. It is this exploration of a relationship that inspired our mission – to produce works that explore how we relate – or how we fail to relate.
